The Pie Eating Contest

This is the current film im working on. Started on the 2nd of September 2008. Latest updates are at the bottom, so read down and view what ive already started on. (Please note that images may randomly duplicate and delete- this is a weebly glitch.)

Concept drawings for main character:

Part of the contest room that ive built. Need to add furnishings and an audience stand.

Added a crowd box, and banners at the front. Also another poster and a cupboard with the pot of flowers making their cameo.

Created some pies out of clay.

To save plasticine, I created stands for the crowd. I plan to sculpt a bust over the pieces of wood. There are 2 rows which will support 7 characters.

A picture of joint main character Liz.

The crowd: The rough edges wont be seen in shot

The plasticine Im using on the film. Never tried this brand before

The main characters (from left; Liz, Skeletor, Fatso and Henrik).

Last night i created the animatic. This morning i started filming. After 2 hours i have about 50 seconds of film (which is loads). Poor animation you may be thinking. Nope mainly just stills and scenes with no movement. Heres a little scribble of a drawing for the animatic.

A little movie poster i did for fun on paint:

I have finished animating the contest scene. 2 minutes and 53 seconds ish of it. It is some of my greatest animation ive done (in the way it flows and entertains, technically its another story). Now i have to add sound and voice to this part. Hopefully by Friday ill be moving on to the kitchen scene. I will have to build the sets for it, and remake the 2 main characters. I have a musician who has agreed to make a score (http://www.electricminstrel.com/). He has told me he wont be ready until November, late october. The film will probably be done by then so i may have to wait/persuade him to do it earlier. Thanks, cl4ymation!

Today i added all the sound effects to the contest part (19th)

This is the the kitchen set for scenes 1 and 3. Its made from dolls house furniture, which ive used in old films, and MDF. The board i used is the same the (but cut up) piece from the contest set (it was hard taking it apart). I Created a window out of lolly pop sticks and my drawing, and I also drew the clock and the portrait.

Made the 2 characters, some more props, a shelf and stuck everything down.

Animated Scene 1, heres a frame from one of the shots

Heres a frame from a shot of scene 2

Made a logo-type-thing for the start of the film. Ive shot its all now, and added sound effects. Now all i need to do is get it scored.
Logo-type thing:

The film is currently having its music added. The man making the music can be found here
Once its back i will show it to a few people then announce it on stopmotionanimation.com. I would like to submit it to wallaceandgromit.com, aniboom.com and 4mations.tv and of course youtube.

Music

Recieved scene 1 with music. Scene 2 is due at the weekend, and scene 3 some time next week. Hopefully this film will be released in a maximum of 2 and a half weeks.
